Review: Cats in Paris ( A Magical Coloring Book )

Cats in Paris is an absolutely stunning coloring book aimed toward adults. My daughter would disagree with that statement and say that it is perfect for her as well. I really love this one because of the gorgeous variety of cats illustrated within as well as a couple of cool Paris backgrounds too. One feature I thought extra cool were the pages with the depictions of different types of cats and the name of what type they are. Of course it also has thick pages good for coloring with any type of product, as well as a removable cover jacket that reveals colorable images on the front and back of the book. Kitties sitting looking cute, cats swimming or batting at objects, this book has it all. Which I thought was super fun. In fact the only thing I didn't like about this coloring book was one single page that was of a cat graveyard. I found that a bit morbid and depressing. I guess it was supposed to express the love for cats even after they have passed on. I don't know. But other than that this was a homerun and definitely something I would think about purchasing for any of my cat loving friends.

review: A Seal's Touch by Tawny Weber

A Seal's Touch is a quick read with a friends to lovers theme that I really enjoyed. This is the first book that I have read by Tawny Weber but I have a few of her other books ready on my kindle as I type this that I can't wait to read now. Although these books can be read as standalones I believe I am going to go back and start from the beginning now that I know what I have been missing out on.

Weber's writing although quick and pleasurable also has a little more depth than just romps in bed and flirting, while still managing to stay fun despite touching on some more serious topics. It has just the right amount of angst to keep it from being too fluffy while still maintaining that light new romance feel. Plus I always love when I am reading a story that makes me say " Yes, These two are perfect for each other!" and that's exactly how I felt about Taylor and Cat. The alternating points of view made things interesting and gratifying. I found it especially delightful hearing Taylor's thoughts on wrapping his mind around Cat evolving into this beautiful woman to him from the tomboy girl that he always thought of her as. His descriptions of her and how beautiful he finds her was very sweet and made me smile. I can't wait to try out more books not only from this series but from Weber's other series as well!

    Review: Grumpy Cat Volume 1

Grumpy Cat meme's have become one of my personal favorites. I just love the cute grumpy faces paired with the hilarious sayings. Needless to say when I saw this on Netgalley I just had to check it out! While the images are cute and I loved Pokey's youthful optimism and naivety I didn't seem to connect so well with my beloved Grumpy Cat on the pages. Instead of the witty one liners and snappy comebacks I was expecting, I felt that that this was too reminiscent of Garfield playing tricks on Odie. In fact I seemed to keep hearing Garfield's voice in my head as I was reading Grumpy Cat's narrative. I did think some of the stories were cute if not exactly what I expected and although I can't say I loved this as much as I was hoping, I also can't say that it was bad. I can however say that I thought the illustration was great and that I think others would definitely enjoy this book especially those who may not go into it with predetermined expectations such as I had. If your a  fan of Garfield and his trickery then you may enjoy The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat and Pokey ( Grumpy Cat Volume 1 ).

Review: Every Little Thing A FLAT VERNACULAR COLORING BOOK By PAYTON COSELL TURNER

absolutely adore the eclectic style of this coloring book! It has such cool pictures, the adorable animals among my favorites to color. There was a neat mirror or kaleidoscope effect going on that I thought was really unique and something I hadn't seen in any other coloring pages before. I also liked that the images weren't quite as small as some of the other adult coloring books. The charming images would appeal to those of many ages in my opinion, especially considering my daughter thought this one was fabulous! I think it will be fun for us to color some of the pages together. One of the major bonuses of these coloring books are the thick pages. You can color with pencil, crayons, markers, whatever! and it doesn't bleed through. I especially liked this feature since markers are super fun! :-) This also mean these would make excellent gifts as they are beautiful and very sturdy. So what are you waiting for? Get one of these beauties and get to coloring
