Review: Draw 50 Sea Creatures by Lee J. Ames with Erin Harvey

I've always been a visual drawer. I am much better at drawing things when I have a picture or drawing to look at, than trying to draw from an idea in my mind. So being a lover of sea creatures I knew I wanted to give Draw 50 Sea Creatures a try and see what all new interesting things it could help me to draw. I love that it is much more than fish. It also features, the African Penguin, Narwhal, Humpback Whale, Sea Otter, and much more! It was really fun and even my daughter was excited and asked to borrow the book to make some sea creature drawings of her own. I would definitely recommend Draw 50 Sea Creatures and would be interested in finding more of these types of books featuring other things to draw. It would appeal to people of many ages and also would make a great gift.

Review: Sugarplum Way by Debbie Mason

Sugarplum Way (Harmony Harbor, #4)Sugarplum Way by Debbie Mason

I have decided I will read anything Debbie Mason writes! This series has been so wonderful. Sugarplum Way has all of the things I love about the Harmony Harbor series. The characters are fun and likeable, the town feels cozy and familiar, and the story was full of emotion but also some really funny laugh out loud moments as well. I really enjoyed that Aidan and Julia didn't quite get along at first but seem to have this crazy attraction to one another. It made their story really fun and kept things interesting. I felt like I could relate to Julia and I loved how adorable she is. That might be why I think this may have been my favorite of the series so far. But really I feel like each book just gets better and better. The other characters have appearances in this book as well, including my favorite ghost, which keeps everything from being about the will they or won't they. I would definitely recommend anyone interested in this book to read the others in the series first though. Trust me you won't regret it! So to review... I loved it, I highly recommend it, and I need more Harmony Harbor!

Review: Seize Today by Pintip Dunn

Seize Today (Forget Tomorrow, #3)Seize Today by Pintip Dunn

Seize Today is the compelling finale to the Forget Tomorrow Trilogy. I was surprised to find that this is one of those series that I loved each book even more than the last.

Seize Today focuses mostly on Olivia Dresden, the only true precognitive, and also the chairwoman's daughter. While Olivia was in the other books as well, I loved getting to know her better in Seize Today. She may just be my favorite character yet! She is strong yet vulnerable, and is determined to always try to do the right thing, even when she believes she never does. She is so powerful yet feels powerless to save the world even as she desperately tries again and again. Her romance with Ryder is just oh so perfect and had me rooting for them fiercely.

All the dystopian/science fiction aspects of the book were really cool and definitely kept things interesting. Future memory, time travel, and parallel realms, it has it all. I liked that it never got confusing though and that these things were explained naturally and simply, never stalling the flow of the story. I highly recommend the Forget Tomorrow Trilogy to fans of YA dystopian/science fiction romance.
