REVIEW: Storm by Brigid Kemmerer + GIVEAWAY

Be Sure to check below this review for the giveaway for a chance to win a copy of this book. If you don't see the giveaway try clicking read more or refresh the page.

Becca's car sat alone in this dark secluded area , the only light from a single street light. Wasn't this what she was just warned about in self defense class? She hears something and notices some boys fighting just ahead. At first she's hesitant to step in but she can't just sit there and do nothing while these two relentlessly beat the boy on the ground. The boy on the ground had been Chris Merrick , a sexy guy from her school. They manage to get away and get him home, but not without her feeling a connection to this strange boy. Little does she know this is just the beginning. The beginning of something much bigger than she could imagine.
Chris isn't just some ordinary teen, he is an elemental. He's not the only one. His brothers can also control elements- fire ,earth ,and wind. They have been targets for some time, of others like them, that don't think the Merrick brothers should remain alive. Now Becca will be targeted as well, but with danger in every direction she will  find out there may be more dangers than just the bullies from the attack.

Storm is an amazing story of magic, romance, action, and suspense. I loved the characters in this book! The brothers fight and argue, but they love each other intensely and would die for each other if they had too. Each has a bit of a volatile side to them, connected to their power. It gives them that strong, sexy, misunderstood vibe, that's just so hot. Of course I can't leave out Becca, she's feisty and a quick thinker, that any girl would love. At times in the story I really feel bad for her, but she takes anything that comes against her and turns it into strength. That makes her a heroine in my book.
The writing is flawless, with perfect flow. Storm was so intense and intriguing I finished it in one day. I could not stand to put it down until I knew every last detail of the story. I am already eagerly anticipating the release of the next upcoming novel in this series Spark.

I would highly recommend Storm to paranormal romance junkies, those who love to read about sexy guys with powers and lovers of YA novels with a twist of magic.**note** There are some graphic scenes of a serious nature so please beware if you are uncomfortable reading books that include such topics.

Review : Unafraid (Archangel Academy book 3) by Michael Griffo + giveaway

Be sure to check out the giveaway at the bottom of this post or check out the giveaways tab for a chance to win the 1st two books in this MM paranormal romance series: Unnatural and Unwelcome...

Michael has escaped his small hometown of Weeping Waters, Nebraska and is attending another year of school at Archangel Academy, a boarding school with a legacy and secrets all it's own. Michael has left his insecurities back in America and is enjoying his new found life in Eden, England. But along with his great new life also comes great responsibilities. He must protect his boyfriend and new friends and fight against the dark forces lurking within the school grounds. Can he use his new abilities and connections to keep them all safe from one man's sinister plans?

I loved continuing to see the transformations in Michael and watching him grow and find himself as he also finds out about love, loyalty, and trusting his instincts. He has formed some strong relationships that continue to be tested but he also has found out a lot more about himself. Unafraid has a consistent message of self acceptance and acceptance of others that I love. It really steps outside the normal relationships you see in YA paranormal romance novels and introduces some really interesting characters. I love that we get insight to what some of our main characters are thinking and the things they try to conceal ,sometimes even from themselves.Unafraid has it all : love, romance, adventure, vengeance, action , and intrigue.

I would highly recommend this book and the entire Archangel Academy series to those who love YA novels and paranormal romance. Please note this book does include same sex couples for those who are uncomfortable reading such stories. It also has some detailed violence so I think it may not be suitable for some younger readers.

Review: Dark Frost by Jennifer Estep

Dark Frost is the newest novel in the Mythos Academy series by Jennifer Estep. It starts off  a few days after New Years, one day before classes start back from holiday break.
Gwen, Daphne, and Carson, along with most of the other second-year Mythos students are at Crius Coliseum to finish an assignment to view a special artifacts exhibit before class the next day.Gwen and Logan are just about to have that "where is this relationship going" conversation, when suddenly Reapers attack the coliseum in search of the Helheim dagger.Gwen and her friends battle the Reapers and manage to barely survive the attack, but some of their classmates weren't so lucky.Gwen is determined to find the dagger before the Reapers can find it and use it to release Loki from his prison thrusting the world into another chaos war. With all the craziness in her life, her best friend acting completely weird, trying to figure out things with Logan and coming across the Fenrir wolf that helped saved her life, can Gwen find the Helheim Dagger before The Reaper Girl who killed her mom and keep her from freeing Loki?

I love that Dark Frost jumps right into the action from the very first chapter. This book is definitely my favorite in the series thus far.We get to know some of our characters a little more in this book, especially Gwen. She is just starting to find herself and see what she's really made of and I for one am enjoying the journey.Gwen is very relatable. She's flawed and sometimes self-conscious, but always wanting to be stronger and find that inner courage.Dark Frost is an enthralling and fast paced read with adventure, romance, and some mystery that had me hooked from beginning to end.I can't wait to read the next book in this series "Crimson Frost".

I highly recommend Dark Frost to anyone who loves young adult fiction, paranormal romance, or mythological folktales.Great addition to your YA library.
