Review + Giveaway ~ A SEAL's Proposal / Wet N Wild SEALs ~ Tawny Weber

ASealsProposal

My Review:
A SEAL's Proposal is a quick steamy read with some humor and fun to boot. I have read a couple of Tawny Weber's other books and must say I love her ultra hot Seal's. This story focuses on Sam and Bryanna, the feisty woman who loves him. Bryanna is on a seduction mission to keep her man and I don't think the sexy SEAL Sam has any complaints! Unfortunately Bryanna's brother does get in his head a bit and causes some tension because of that stupid vow they took stating no relationships. Ugh! But the bedroom is always a fun place to work out tension ;-)
I really enjoyed this short novella and am adding Ms. Weber to my list of author's whose books are on my automatic buy list when I see their name. If you need a quick read and like men in uniform and hot romance then you should definitely check this one out.

 Excerpt
“I don’t have your Christmas gift yet,” Bryanna lied with an exaggerated look of regret. She deliberately kept her gaze away from the tree where the hand knit fisherman’s sweater, fancy ratchet set and customized display case for his medals were wrapped and waiting.
“That’s okay.” Sam shrugged, poking at the package with one finger, a small frown creasing his brow. “Its not really a Christmas gift.”
A going away gift. What did two years of whispered secrets, mind-blowing lovemaking and joyful friendship merit? Bryanna couldn’t keep the smile in place this time. She set the package on the small side table next to a bowl of holiday hued M&Ms.
Then, aiming for distraction, she slid her hands up Sam’s chest, skimming the delicious breadth of those strong muscles before curling her fingers behind his neck.
“How about I open it after dinner,” she suggested, rising to tiptoes to brush a teasing kiss over his lips. “Or better yet, after dessert.”
She added a seductive flick of her tongue, letting him know just how tasty dessert would be. Her heart melted with gratitude when he took the invitation.
Sam’s hands gripped her hips, pulling her tight against his body. His tongue delved deep, taking the kiss from teasing to tempting with one swift thrust. Bryanna melted into his body, her pulse racing, desire coursing through her system. Even knowing he was about to break her heart, she couldn’t resist the lure of passion that flared hot and needy between them.

Review: Deviate ( Light Key Trilogy #2 ) by Tracy Clark

My Review:

After reading the first book in this series Scintillate, I was super excited to read Deviate and continue Cora's journey to uncover the mysteries surrounding her people and their history, as well as to see what was to come of her love for Finn after he turned out to be an Arrazi.

There are so many things to love about this series. Clark expertly weaves history, art, and literature into this unique tale and the outcome is amazing. The mysteries  definitely kept me intrigued. But I did find this book to have a bit of that middle book syndrome. A lot of stuff just starts to feel like " Okay I get it. Every time they seem to be getting out of this mess they get into an ever bigger one. Gotcha. "  so although the story plot is still good and I like that we moved toward the set up for the next book  I feel like this book was doing a lot of filling in between book one and what's going to go down in book three.  With that said I still think it was all important and not boring per say just me going okay okay I need to find out where this is going while things are still good and before they get too repetitive. I am still very much caught up in this story and desperately want to read the third book to see how this is going to end. ( Please let Cora and Finn get their HEA. Please. Please. Please! )

Review: Scintillate by Tracy Clark

My Review:

I really really enjoyed this one! Scintillate is definitely different than anything else that I have personally read and I was totally engrossed throughout the entire book! The metaphysical aspects made Scintillate feel quite poetic and the mysteries inspiring an enchanting sense of mystique and allure in me. Not to mention that the author just seems to have a way with words were although a sentence may be simple she can make it beautiful and full of passion. I found the talk of auras, our energies, and such quite fascinating and it was actually very thought provoking. I have never read anything else involving those topics before so it was rather interesting. I love how passionate the characters are and I can't wait to read the following books in this series to see what happens.

Review: Owlegories vol. 1 dvd

My Review:
Owlegories is a gospel-centered animated series for children that teaches kids about God through nature and God's Word. Owlegories Vol. 1 contains the three lessons as mentioned above in the description where the owl students learn about how God is like the sun, the seed, and the water through this fun story using allegories. Which are wittily renamed owlegories for this cute series featuring these adorable owls.
allegories- a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one
I asked my eight year old daughter to watch with me and give me her opinion as well. So I asked her some questions and here are her answers:
  • Did you like Owlegories vol. 1? Yes I did.
  • What is something you liked about it? That they were learning about God.
  • Did you like the characters? Yes. I thought they were very cute.
  • What was your favorite character? Violet
  • What was your favorite lesson? That the Sun is like God and that it is powerful just like God is powerful.
Although a simple film, it was not merely a form of entertainment to her. It also did seem to be thought provoking for her and we openly discussed how we may have never thought of the things presented in the lessons in quite that way. As for my thoughts. I really like the messages in this movie as well as the way that they were portrayed. I think the animation is cute and inviting and that the language is clear and easy for the kids to understand and pay attention to. The characters have obstacles to overcome but I like that they weren't overly scary like we sometimes run across in "children's" movies. My daughter said she thought at first that the movie would be for younger children but then she really liked it too. So I believe that this really would be good for most any age audience. I noticed when the movie screen popped up where the ratings would typically be it states:

The following movie has been approved for owl audiences by the Hoo motion picture parliament. The movie has been rated O for Owlegories some material may be sparkelicious. Brief sequences of respectful behavior, educational content, thought provoking dialogue, and scripture throughout.
Which I thought to be very endearing and true.

Review: Siren's Song by Mary Weber

Siren’s Song is the 3rd book in a series.

My Review:
First of all I want to say that I love the covers for this entire series. So gorgeous! Secondly the writing is superb and just has this beautiful flow to it. Siren's Song is particularly interesting as now Eogan is back so we have romance again (yay!) and are also on the brink of war against Draewolf and his wraiths. The direction that Nym's powers take and the result on Eogan and other's as well has to be one of my favorite parts of the story. The ending line cracked me up too. The strange thing about these books for me is that I always enjoy them ( the first and last way more so than the second ) but for some reason they take me so long to read. Maybe it's the shear complexity of the story it's self or the fact that it just overwhelms me at times with so much going on and it takes so long to get to the points in which we know it's moving. Nevertheless I would definitely recommend this series as a whole ( not standalone material! ) for fans of action fantasy with a kick butt heroine, great world building, and some minor romance.
